Introduction

A warm WELCOME to the Research Project Aarhus's Artwork. We are interested to study how a collaborative interpretation of one artwork can be achieved. For a duration of two months the students will be asked to engage with this online platform OpenDCN (Deliberative Community Networks). Each student is invited to participate with just 3 simple steps. You will be asked to write one individual interpretation of one specific artwork (from Kunsthal Aarhus). After each interpretation is submitted, the participants are invited to vote for each submitted interpretations. There will be the opportunity to rewrite the interpretation, so in the end we have one final interpretation containing the consensus of the highest voted interpretations.

We have invited around 30 participatnts to this study. There are two Groups, for the students of the Aesthetic Communication in Practices course, JUST THE GROUP1 is relevant. Group2is a running study with previous participants. For the students please follow the next three steps, we should be all able to reach one interpretation.

3 simple steps:

Step 1: Collection of interpretations
GROUP1:

Click here: http://aarhusartwork.opendcn.org/brainstormings/scenario_show/2/3 On this link you can submit your interpretation about the artwork from Kunsthal.
There you can submit your interpretation, look for "Do you have an idea for this scenario? Suggest it". You are kindly asked to submit your first version of interpretation till latest the 8.Feburary. Then Step 1 is completed.

Step 2: Evaluation of interpretations (few rounds/iterations)

After everyone has submitted their interpretation, you will be invited to vote and assign a score to each interpretation, including your own. The higher the number you score an interpretation (0-5); this means you are in favor with the interpretation and want it to be included into the final interpretation. The first voting needs to be completed by the 11.Feburary.

Step 3: Calculation of interpretations most appreciated
When the evaluation of the voting is completed, the most appreciated interpretations will be highlighted and all the information about the authorship and who supported which interpretation is revealed. Then a new round will start with Step1 and all authors will have another chance to improve and rewrite or write a new interpretation. Then the voting begins again. This will continue max 5 times till we have found one final interpretation, which contains all the consensus of all the highest voted interpretations.
The evaluation is based on a research work, which uses a quite sophisticated algorithm, proposed by Pietro Speroni di Fenizio and Derek Paterson from University of Milan.

If a consensus is reached (one interpretations has been chosen), the administrator can close the study. If you have questions or want to provide some feedback regarding the tool, you can write in here: http://aarhusartwork.opendcn.org/infodiscs/index/1

Thank you for helping in this study, we are looking forward to your participation.
